Top NHL Parlay Odds & Picks for Tuesday May 31 (2022)

The Western Conference Finals will have two of the top offensive teams in the playoffs going at it for the Campbell Bowl and a chance to go to the Stanley Cup Finals. Both of these rosters star-studded players have felt the sense of defeat much earlier in years past, and with both so close to the mountain top, they will give it everything to not come home empty.

Both rosters feature some of the greatest players in the world who have the ability to sway a game in an instant. This has the possibility of being one of the more memorable series in recent history.

Edmonton Oilers (+155) vs. Colorado Avalanche (-185) O/U 7

(Puck Drop 8:07 p.m. ET)

The combo of Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Evander Kane has been amazing in these playoffs. McDavid and Draisaitl are coming into this series as the top point leaders in the playoffs at 26.

McDavid was good with 12 points, but Draisiti was on a whole other level with 17 with at least three in all five games and becoming the first player to ever have that many points in just five games. They helped Kane get his playoff-leading 12 goals, who is turning out to be a great mid-season acquisition. They have been by far the most dangerous first line in the postseason.

Often throughout the playoffs, they’ve needed to outshoot their opponents as goaltender Mike Smith has had some rough games. He’s certainly not the same goaltender that once helped the Coyotes to the Western Conference Finals, but he’s at a .927 save percentage and a 8.28 GSAx which are much better numbers than his counterpart in this series.

The last couple of games between Avalanche and Blues was a battle of whose goalie could not blow it. St. Louis’ Vile Husso was hands down the worse statistical goalie in the playoffs, but Colorado’s Darcy Kuemper isn’t far behind and now owns the worse save percentage of the remaining goalies at .904, and his GSAx is -4.24.

While Edmonton’s scoring has mostly come from the first line, Colorado has been getting contributions from players you wouldn’t expect. The only time Nathan MacKinnon lit the lamp was during his hat trick in Game 5, other than that, he had just three assists in that series. The Avs’ regular season goal leader Mikko Rantanen has been a non-factor as he’s found the net just once in the playoffs.  Defenseman Cale Makar has been the difference maker as he’s leading the team with 10 assists and tied with MacKinnon with 13 points. This team has the confidence through every shift change they have someone on the ice who could score.

This first game is going to be an interesting one of who will come out of the gate strong. Oilers are 0-2 in Game 1s in the playoffs, while the Avs are 2-0, with both wins being at home. The Oilers’ first line are the ones doing all the damage, but the Avs are getting contributions throughout their lineup.

After going 0-6 in the second round, dating back to 2002, Avalanche will feel a sigh of relief going into this game, and the arena will be emotional. This Colorado roster has too many players that can make a difference, and don’t expect that first line to be quiet much longer.

Leg 1: Avalanche ML

Game Total Goals O/U 7

These are the higher scoring teams in this postseason, and both offenses have played consistently well throughout the playoffs. Right now, neither of these goaltenders are unstoppable. Edmonton has gone over the total in three road games, and these two teams went over the goal total in their last matchup just before the playoffs.

Leg 2: Over 7

Oilers Team Goals O/U 2.5

DraftKings gives you a few options on where to go with this bet, and with Kemper’s recent performances, you might want to consider choosing a higher number with a better payout. Kuemper’s last game against the Edmonton was awful as he allowed five goals, but in his previous two starts against them, he saved 72-of-75 shots. The over 2.5 is the best way to go to make sure all the parlay legs stand for a payday.

Leg 3: Over 2.5

Total parlay odds on DraftKings: +270
