Top NHL Betting Picks for Monday, April 25 (2022)

The NHL schedule makers have done a terrific job once again as we have just one game on Monday despite having 13 games on Tuesday. Regardless of the lack of options to pick through, I still have two best bets for Monday night’s lone game below.

Bet $10, Win $200 if Either Team Scores a Goal >>

Philadelphia Flyers (+115) @ Chicago Blackhawks (-135)
The Central Division’s seventh-place Chicago Blackhawks host the Metropolitan Division’s eighth-place Philadelphia Flyers in a game that only bettors could love. As a short favorite, I am going with the Blackhawks to win this game in front of their home crowd, despite how small the attendance will probably be.

This game should be a big letdown spot for Philadelphia as they travel to Chicago on the second half of a back-to-back following a big upset over their intrastate rival, the Pittsburgh Penguins. Prior to that game, Philadelphia had lost 11 of their last 14 contests.

In a battle between two teams that are both horrible and both playing for nothing with just a couple of games left on the schedule, I will take Chicago on home ice.

Best Bet: Chicago Blackhawks ML (-135)

Philadelphia Flyers @ Chicago Blackhawks, o/u 6.5 (-105/-115)
In addition to Chicago’s moneyline, I am riding with the over in this game. The over has been a hot bet for Chicago as they have seen seven or more total goals scored in six of their last eight games.

This trend also rings true for Philadelphia as they have seen seven or more total goals scored in six of their last eight games as well. In their lone meeting against each other this season, there were seven total goals scored.

Philadelphia’s defense is atrocious as they rank just 28th in the league this season in five-on-five expected goals against per 60 minutes (xGA). Chicago should give up their fair share of goals as well since Kevin Lankinen is the projected starting goaltender for the Blackhawks.

Lankinen has now allowed three or more goals in six straight starts. Across the ice, Felix Sandstrom is projected to get the start for Philadelphia and he has also allowed three or more goals in all three of his starts this season.

Best Bet: Flyers/Blackhawks o6.5 (-105)

Best of luck!
