Two Game 2s on the slate for Tuesday night with both road teams getting the win in Game 1. Boston finally took a hit in the mouth in what was an easy first-round series for them. The question is can the NBA’s top defense get back on track and tie this series. The Grizzlies fared much better in Game 1, but Golden State was able to edge them out in a game that went down to the wire. They certainly don’t want to go down 2-0 to a multi-championship team.

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Boston Celtics (-4) O/U 215.5
(Tip-off: 7:05 p.m.)
The Celtics’ defense took a hit in Game 1 as the current Defensive Player of The Year Marcus Smart suffered multiple injuries during the game. He is listed as questionable for Game 2 with a thigh contusion. Not having smart at all in this game could mean another big game for Jrue Holiday who scored 25 points in the 101-89 win.
The Bucks are dealing with a big injury themselves as Khris Middletown is not expected to return until Eastern Finals if they make it.
Boston focused so much on trying to shut Giannis in Game 1, that it allowed the other guys to have open looks, and Giannis having 12 assists shows he has no problem spreading the love. They need to let Robert Williams and Al Horford handle Antetokounmpo and have everyone make sure they don’t get any quality opportunities. Horford and Williams combined for five blocks in Game 1 and the Celtics allowed the second-fewest points in the paint this season (42.0), they got this.
The Celtics have shown this year they’re able to adjust when something doesn’t go right. Jason Tatum had a good game but Jalen Brown struggled shooting just 4-of-13.
The Bucks showed their hand in Game 1 by going big with Giannis at small forward and Brook Lopez starting at center. They are telling the Celtics if they want to score, they have to do it from the perimeter.
Expect Brown to have a bounce game and even possibly without Smart, they should come away with the win.
Leg 1: Celtics -4.5
Golden State Warriors (-2) vs. Memphis Grizzles O/U 227.5
(Tip-off: 9:35 p.m. ET)
We expected this series to be an exciting one with two offensive powerhouses and it didn’t disappoint in Game 1. Back and forth from tip-off to buzzer as a Klay Thompson three with 36 seconds sealed it.
Of course, the big story to come out of this game is the Draymond Green ejection, as both momma Green and her son were not happy about what transpired. It’s all done with and Green is set to play Game 2.
The Warriors proved when all their guys are on, they almost impossible to stop. They are one of the best at moving the ball, rotating, and getting high-percentage shots. Memphis had trouble all game on rotations and Morant could not cover Stephen Curry off the pick and roll defense as Curry was frequently open off the dribble.
The big question for the Grizzlies in Game 2 is the status of Desmond Bane. He is listed as questionable with a back issue and that could explain the nine points in the loss.
Jaren Jackson saw an increase in minutes in Game 1 and came through 33 points, 10 rebounds, and 6-for-9 from three. With Golden State’s smaller lineup, this should give Jackson an opportunity to step up again with Morant and try to go to the Bay with the series tied at one.
The Grizzles were good in Game 1, but Golden State’s experience in these situations showed. Offensively you like how the Grizzles played, but you saw on defense, the confusion in assignments, and they seemed always a step behind. That going to be a problem because the Warriors play hard for 48-straight minutes. With Bane, this game would be a lot closer, but he’s not available, it could be trouble.
Leg 2: Warriors -2
