Top MLB Betting Odds & Picks for Sunday, June 5 (2022)

Unfortunately, two selected teams yesterday had choke jobs and ended up losing despite being up by multiple runs at some point in their games. We went 1-2 on the day with the two hard-luck losses.

It’s time to bounce back. I’ve got three more spots that I’m ready to attack for today’s slate for June 5.

(Odds courtesy DraftKings)

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pittsburgh Pirates struggled to score against Zach Davies. Imagine how they’ll hit against Zac Gallen.

Gallen has an xFIP of 3.88 in the last 30 days with high strikeouts and low walks. He’s also earning nearly 52 percent ground balls and holding line drives to 16.5 percent in that same time frame.

The Pirates, offensively, have a .147 ISO and wOBA of .272 against righties in the last 30 days, so Gallen should have another successful outing.

On the other hand, the Arizona lineup is heating up against righties. In the last 30 days, the Diamondbacks have a .236 ISO and wOBA of .354 with the projected lineup. Today, they’ll take on Zach Thompson, who has allowed 27.4 percent line drives in the last 30 days and has only earned 18.6 percent strikeouts.

Give me the Diamondbacks today.

Bet: Diamondbacks (-145 at DraftKings)

Chicago White Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays

I know the White Sox have been miserable offensively this season. But today, they’ll take on Ryan Yarbrough, who has a 5.61 xFIP in the last 30 days with just 17.65 percent strikeouts.

Yarbrough is a left-handed pitcher who will now face a White Sox lineup of nine righties. That can’t be good news for Yarbrough, who is allowing nearly 50 percent fly balls in the last 30 days.

On the other hand, the White Sox will send out Lucas Giolito. While his xFIP has crept up recently, Giolito is still earning 27.6 percent strikeouts in the last 30 days. The Rays have combined for a .279 wOBA against righties and are hitting a BABIP of .231 against righties in the last 30 days. They’re getting weak contact, hitting plenty of ground balls, and earning just 19.5 percent line drives as a lineup.

Take the White Sox.

Bet: White Sox (-120 at DraftKings)

Seattle Mariners vs. Texas Rangers

The Mariners will send out George Kirby, who has been impressive this season. In the last 30 days, Kirby has a 3.64 xFIP with 25.9 percent strikeouts, and 2.8 percent walks. However, against righties, Kirby is allowing a .382 wOBA and ISO of .261.

The Rangers should have five righties in the lineup and a couple of lefties who are elite against righties. This isn’t the best matchup for Kirby.

On the other hand, the Rangers will send out left-hander Martin Perez. Perez has been very surprising this year and has an xFIP of 3.56 in the last 30 days. He’s also earning nearly 22 percent strikeouts and keeping the walks down while earning 58.2 percent ground balls.

Perez has been everything the Rangers hoped for and then some. Back the Rangers with Perez on the mound today.

Bet: Rangers (-130 at DraftKings)
