Top MLB Betting Odds & Picks for Sunday, April 24 (2022)

The Yankees and Angels let us down yesterday but at least the Giants were able to cover the -1.5 run line to give us a 1-2 day. It’s a long season. If you can salvage bad days by limiting the damage to just one unit, it’s a really good thing. We’re going to have more winning days than losing days. You just want to limit how bad the bad days are and maximize the really good days!

I’ve got three more games for today’s Sunday action. Catchers sit and other players might get the day off. So make sure to check lineups before locking in a massive wager.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Houston Astros Moneyline (-135)

The Blue Jays are built to smack around lefties but don’t produce nearly as much going up against righties. The Blue Jays lineup added Zack Collins and Raimel Tapia during the off-season but those two bats aren’t game-changers from the left side. Toronto has to face Houston’s Luis Garcia, who is dominating righties but struggling against lefties.

This favors Garcia and the Astros knowing that Garcia is bad against lefties but will only have to face two lefties in the Blue Jays lineup. Meanwhile, Yusei Kikuchi will head out for the Blue Jays. He’s had his issues against righties dating back to last year, as a left-handed pitcher. In Houston’s lineup, the Astros will have six righties and so much more potential offensively.

This bet for me is all about matchups. The Astros match up better in today’s game.

Bet: Astros ML (-135 at DraftKings)

San Francisco Giants vs. Washington Nationals F5 Run Line (-1, +100)

Joan Adon had his best outing of the season with the Nationals last time out. But he still has a 1-2 record with a 5.87 ERA and a WHIP of 1.63. He’s not a huge strikeout thrower and has still given up 16 hits in 15.1 innings. Plus, he’s facing MLB’s best in Logan Webb, who has a 2.55 ERA with a WHIP of 1.08.

This is a full mismatch for the Nationals. The offense for Washington has a .153 ISO and wOBA of .311 against righties dating back to last year. It’s not going to get easier against Logan Webb, who has an XFIP of 2.81 with 26% strikeouts and 5.8% walks.

Adon, on the other hand, still has a 5.36 xFIP dating back to last season and it’s actually worse this season in comparison. His walks are reaching over 12.5% now and he’s been awful against lefties, as they’re hitting a .424 wOBA with an ISO of .235.

The Giants will have plenty of big left-handed bats in the lineup to take on Adon.

Bet: Giants -1 F5 (-110 at DraftKings)

Kansas City Royals vs Seattle Mariners F5 Team Total (2.5, -105)

The Seattle Mariners have my attention. Seattle is going up against Carlos Hernandez, who has a 5.58 xFIP with just 18.7% strikeouts and 11.1% walks dating back to last season. To start this season, Hernandez has a 7.27 ERA with 14 hits allowed in 8.2 innings pitched. He’s also struck out just one batter and has walked three in those 8.2 innings.

The Mariners have some massive power bats like Jesse Winker and Eugenio Suarez along with Jarred Kelenic and the rest of the gang. Seattle’s going to have another big year. The playoffs are something they’ll be striving for and after last season, they’ve come to realize that every game counts.

Grab the Mariners to score three runs in the first five innings against Hernandez and the Royals.

Bet: Mariners Over 2.5 F5 TT (-105 at DraftKings)
