Top 5 MLB Player Props for Monday, July 4 (2022)

There may be no better way to honor America than with a large slate of America’s pastime. With baseball taking center stage, there are ample opportunities to grow your bankroll. So let’s have ours take off high into the sky like a firework with our best player props bets of the slate.

Marcus Semien Over 1.5 Total Bases +106 (Rangers vs. Orioles 1:05 ET)

The Rangers’ second-biggest free agent signing from this past offseason has finally begun to show signs of life at the plate. Over his last seven games, Marcus Semien is hitting .267 with a .533 slugging percentage. Today, he’ll get to face Baltimore’s Dean Kremer. All Kremer does is allow solid contact. As a result, he enters this start ranking in the bottom 20 percent of all qualified pitchers in hard-hit rate, barrel rate, and xSLG. Nevertheless, Semien should stay hot today, and this is the best way to get a piece of him.

Ahmed Rosario Over 1.5 Total Bases +100 ( Guardians vs. Tigers 1:10 ET)

Rosario has been on fire, and this latest stretch only adds to his All-Start candidacy. Over his last seven games, Rosario is hitting .423 with an OPS of 1.115. In game one of today’s doubleheader, he’ll be matched up with rookie Garrett Hill who’s making his big league debut. While that may create uncertainty around Rosario, this is actually a great matchup. Hill showed plenty of command issues, and solid contact as walks per nine were 3.58, and his BABIP is .293. Each of those has helped his ERA for the Triple-A season be 4.06. The Guardians should get going early, and Rosario will be right in the middle of it.

Eric Lauer Over 5.5 Strikeouts -105 ( Cubs vs. Brewers 4:10 ET)

The lethal Milwaukee lefty has been struggling of late, but a start against the Chicago Cubs may be the trick to end his slump. Lauer has already faced them twice this season, and both performances have been excellent. In April, he spun seven shutout innings and struck out 11 Cubs in the process. He then followed that up in May with five innings of two-run ball while punching out six. Chicago is still in the top half of the league in strikeout percentage, and Lauer’s strikeout rate is in the top 40 percent of the majors. With not much changed between each of these outings, we could see a great performance as Lauer gets back on track.

Carlos Rodon Over 7.5 Strikeouts +115 ( Giants vs. Diamondbacks 6:10 ET)

We go from one lefty to another, and Rodon has proven not just to be one of the best lefties in the game but one of the best overall starters this season. He gets the ball in this start while holding a 2.62 ERA and has racked up 105 strikeouts in 86 innings of work. Strangely, he did not strike out that many batters in his last outing against a free-swinging Detroit team, but are we going to see two down outings in a row? Rodon will be matched up against Arizona, which has the seven highest strikeout rate in the majors at 23.7, and that holds true against lefties in particular as their rate only drops to 23.3. The strikeouts should pile up as there is tremendous value on this total at plus money.

Alek Manoah Over 5.5 Strikeouts -165 ( Blue Jays vs. Athletics 9:07 ET)

If it weren’t for Shane McClanahan pitching on another planet this season, Alek Manoah would be getting all the AL Cy Young hype. Manoah enters this start with a 2.09 ERA and a WHIP of 0.96. While his strikeout numbers are average, Manoah has the stuff to rack them up, and that’s what we have seen lately. He’s gone over this total in three of his last four starts. He gets the worst offense in the majors tonight as Oakland has just a .212 team batting average. Also, with all of those outs comes a lot of strikeouts. The Athletics have the sixth-highest strikeout rate in the big leagues, and that only goes up against righties. Manoah could put together his most dominant performance to date and fly over this total in the process.
