- The Brooklyn Nets have been given a win total of 45.5 for the 2022-23 NBA season.
- Brooklyn had the highest win total last season at 56.5 wins but they finished with a 44-38 record.
- The New York Knicks and Utah Jazz win totals are set at 39.5 and 33.5 wins, respectively.
The Brooklyn Nets were among several NBA teams whose regular season win total wasn’t released due to trade speculations involving big-name players.
On Thursday, the DraftKings Sportsbook released the win totals for the Nets, New York Knicks, and Utah Jazz, and surprisingly, the expectations for the Nets aren’t too high this season.

The Nets have been given an initial total of 45.5 wins for the 2022-23 season. That puts them in a tie with the Atlanta Hawks for the 13th most projected wins in the league next season and tied for the 5th best win total in the Eastern Conference. While that’s not too bad, it’s a huge drop from where they stool last season.
Brooklyn was the preseason favorite to win the 2022 NBA title and was given the league’s highest win total at 56.5 wins. However, with Kyrie Irving missing most of their home games due to health and safety protocols and injuries to key players, Brooklyn stumbled to a 44-38 record and finished as the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference. They were swept in the opening round of the 2022 NBA Playoffs by the Boston Celtics.
Technically, the Nets are still one of the top teams in the NBA with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons. But with Durant demanding a trade and Irving linked to several teams since the start of the free agency period, Brooklyn’s 2022-23 season is still a big question mark. The Nets still have the 7th best odds to win the 2023 NBA title at +1500 odds, but those odds could still fluctuate, depending on what happens to KD and Kyrie.
Knicks Heavily Linked to Donovan Mitchell
— NBA Analysis Network (@HoopAnalysisNet) July 25, 2022
Meanwhile, the Knicks were bestowed with an initial win total of 39.5, the 20th-highest in the league. New York has been heavily linked to a Donovan Mitchell trade and were the -105 betting favorites to land the Jazz star in the last BetOnline Donovan Mitchell odds board. However, nothing has come up since Mitchell was initially tied to New York.
On the other hand, the Jazz were given a win total of 33.5, the 7th lowest win total in the entire NBA. Utah lost its status as one of the NBA’s elite teams when they sent three-time Defensive Player of the Year winner Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Sure, the Jazz received a steep package of five players and five draft picks, but none of them can fill the void left by Gobert. With the Jazz also listening to trade offers for Mitchell, the fate of Utah’s 2022 campaign is up for grab.
The Celtics have the highest win total in the league at 54.5 with the Clippers, Suns, and Bucks sharing the second spot at 52.5 wins. Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors are at 51.5 wins. On the other hand, the Houston Rockets have the lowest win total at 23.5 with the San Antonio Spurs and Indiana Pacers next at 24.5 wins. The Orlando Magic at 25.5 wins and OKC Thunder at 26.5 win complete the Top 5 from the bottom.
