New Jersey Gambling Revenue Up 2.2% in June

  • New Jersey’s legal sports betting market had a year-on-year decrease of 44.9% for the month of June 2022.
  • Despite the decrease, the $401 million revenue of the nine Atlantic City casinos for June 2022 is 2.2% better than its June 2021 figures.
  • The Borgata Casino Hotel & Spa led the way with $54.3 million in revenue for June 2022.

New Jersey’s legal sports betting market brought in $39.2 million in sports betting revenue for the month of June 2022. That amount is significantly lower than June 2021’s $71.3 million or a decrease of 44.9% On a year-to-date basis, the Garden State’s sports betting number has fallen by over 16% as compared to last year.

Despite the decrease in sportsbook revenues, New Jersey’s gambling figures grew to $401 million in June 2022.

AC’s Total 2022 Gaming Revenues Over the $2.2 Billion Mark

June 2022’s $401 million revenue is 2.2% better than the state’s June 2021 numbers. Meanwhile, the January to June 2022 revenues have reached $2.43 billion which is a 15.2% increase over the $2.11 billion amount reported at the same time last year.

Separate from racetracks, the casinos’ total gaming revenue increased by more than 9% this month to $377.4 million as compared to June 2021. As of June 2022, Atlantic City’s total casino gaming revenue has topped the $2.2 billion mark which is nearly 19% better than last year’s numbers.

Continuation of Recovery Trend

According to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, the latest month’s results show the continuation of the recovery trend for the nine Atlantic City casinos since the COVID-19 pandemic peaked in early 2020.

The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa led the way with its $54.3 million in monthly earnings. Next was Hard Rock Hotel & Atlantic City which reported $44.6 million in revenues for June 2022.
