- Jaylen Brown has the third-best odds to win the 2022 NBA Finals MVP award.
- Steph Curry is the odds on favorite at +120 while Jayson Tatum is second at +175.
- Golden State has opened as a -155 favorite to win the 2022 NBA championship.
Jaylen Brown turned from goat to hero when he helped the Boston Celtics pull off the Game 7 win in Miami.
Brown missed two free throws in Game 6 that allowed the Heat to win the game and extend the 2022 Eastern Conference Finals to a winner-take-all Game 7. But instead of folding under pressure, JB delivered a brilliant Game 7 performance where he netted 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists to help Jayson Tatum lead Boston to its first Finals appearance since 2010.
It was Tatum who took home Eastern Conference Finals MVP honors, winning the first-ever Larry Bird trophy. However, Brown was just as key to the victory as Tatum was. Tatum, Brown, and Marcus Smart became the first teammate trio to score at least 20 points each in a Game 7. Tatum and Brown are also only the third pair of teammates aged 25 years or younger to reach the NBA Finals averaging 20 points each.
Now Jaylen Brown has the third-best odds to win the 2022 Finals MVP.

According to the best NBA betting sits, Golden State’s Steph Curry is the odds on favorite to win the 2022 NBA Finals MVP award at +120 odds while Tatum is a close second with his +175 odds. Curry was named the Western Conference Finals MVP just as Tatum won the East version of the award so it’s no surprise why they are on top of the list.
But Jaylen Brown, who nearly turned to goat in Game 6 of the East Finals, is third at +1000 odds after being just 5th at +1400 odds before the Celtics’ Game 7 win. Draymond Green and Klay Thompson complete the Top 5 at +1400 and +1500, respectively while Jordan Poole is a distant 6th at +3000 odds.
There’s no question why four out of the Top 6 names on the board are from Golden State. The Dubs are the current -155 betting favorites to win the 2022 NBA championship at the BetOnline App. But to have two Celtics players next to Steph Curry on the betting board proves that not only does Boston have a fighting chance, but they also have two young stars who can lead them to the promised land.

The Celtics have not only opened as series underdogs against the Warriors, but they have also opened as +3.5 point underdogs in Thursday’s Game 1 which will be played at Golden State’s Chase Center. Boston is also the +137 Moneyline underdog on Thursday night while the Warriors are the -157 favorites to win Game 1.
According to the BetOnline App, the Warriors are a +375 to win the series in seven games and a +400 to clinch the title in Game 6 or Game 5. Meanwhile, the shortest odds for the Celtics to win is at +475 in six games and +575 in seven games. Despite the odds, don’t count the Celtics out yet.
Boston is the only team to have a winning record against Steve Kerr at 9-7. These teams split their two meetings this season with the Dubs winning 111-107 at the TD Garden on December 17, 2021, and the Celtics returning the favor at Chase Center 110-88 on March 16, 2022. Let’s not forget that the Celtics were a different beast from January 1, 2022, onwards and a powerhouse team since Jaylen Brown’s “energy is about to shift” tweet.
