- Erling Haaland is the current +600 betting favorite to win the 2022/23 PFA Player of the Year award at the BetOnline App.
- Haaland completed a transfer to Manchester City last month, signing a five-year deal with the squad.
- Haaland’s teammate Kevin De Bruyne is second at +700 odds while reigning PFA Player of the Year Mohammad Salah is third at +800 odds.
Erling Haaland’s move to Manchester City was a key addition to Pep Guardiola’s team as they look to become the first side to win the league title for a third consecutive season since Manchester United in 2009.
With his exceptional goal-scoring ability and the opportunity he will get with Guardiola, Haaland has also opened as the odds on favorite to win the 2022/23 PFA Player of the Year award.

The Norway international was one of the most highly sought-after young footballers in the world and Manchester City fought off competition from Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to sign him. Last May, City confirmed that they had forged a $64 million deal with Borussia Dortmund for Haaland’s release. Haaland completed the deal last month by putting pen to paper on a five-year deal to play for Manchester City.
The 22-year-old joined Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020 and scored 41 goals in 41 games in his first full season with the team. At the international level with Norway, Haaland scored 20 goals in 21 games after making his debut in 2019. This season, he scored a total of 36 goals in 34 appearances for club and country combined.
Haaland made his Manchester City debut on Sunday at Lambeau Field in a Friendly against Bayern Munich and it took him only 12 minutes to score his first Manchester City goal. If that was a sign of things to come, then there is no question why he is the +600 favorite to win the 2022/23 PFA Player of the Year award at the BetOnline App.
Kevin De Bruyne is the Only Remaining Player from City’s 2015-16 Team

Next on the BetOnline odds board is Haaland’s new teammate Kevin De Bruyne who is the only remaining member of the 2015-15 Manchester City squad that Pep Guardiola inherited when he arrived at the scene. At +700 odds, De Bruyne is not new to winning the award, having won it in consecutive seasons in 2019/20 and 2020/21. He was favored to win it a third time last season but was narrowly beaten by Mohammed Salah.
It’s no wonder then that Salah is listed next at +800. Although he missed out on winning the Premier League title last season, Salah not only won the PFA Player of the Year award but also the Golden Boot. However, if he is to win again this year, he will have to do so with a new-look front line after the departure of Sadio Mane.
Harry Kane is next at +1200 odds. The Tottenham striker has won the Golden Boot three times and was the Playmaker of the Season during the 2020-21 season. But Kane has never won the PFA Player of the Year award, just as no Englishman has done so since 2009. Phil Foden is the third City player on the list at +1600 odds. Also listed at +1600 are Cristiano Ronaldo and Heung-Min Soo.
