Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez have opened as the betting favorites to win the Canadian Grand Prix at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on June 19th.

Once again, it was Leclerc who took pole position with Perez finishing second in qualification and Verstappen third. However, Ferrari’s woes continued as both drivers suffered car failures with Sainz pulling off the road in the 9th lap with a hydraulic failure and Leclerc suffering an engine failure in Lap 20.
Three weeks ago in Spain, Leclerc retired from the race when his car suddenly lost power on lap 27 when he was leading the race. The Ferrari ace also missed out on a victory in Monaco due to a botched strategy in a race where he was the -300 favorite after starting from pole. On Sunday, Leclerc also began the race at P1 but for the second time in the last three races, he did not finish the race.
Perez, who won this race last season and was the victor in Monaco two weeks ago, came in second behind Verstappen for a 1-2 finish for Red Bull. The 2nd place finish was Checo’s fourth podium in the five years the Baku race has been held. That gives Perez one more than Sebastian Vettel for most podium finishes in the Azerbaijan GP.

With his 4th-second place finish of the season, Perez moved up to P2 in the Drivers Standings with 129 points. Meanwhile, Verstappen extended his lead to 21 at 150 points. Leclerc, who led the standings after two races, is now down to third with his 116 points. No other driver has at least 100 points outside the Top 3.
According to the BetOnline App, Verstappen is now an even bigger -250 betting favorite to win a second consecutive Drivers Championship. Leclerc has dropped to +350. Max is an even bigger -275 odds on favorite at Bet365 USA with Leclerc listed at +333. Perez is a far third at +1200 but another big performance from the Mexican could put him closer to Leclerc on the betting boards.
Verstappen has opened as the -120 betting favorite to win the Canadian GP. Perez has the second-best odds to win the race at +275 as Red Bull is predicted to go 1-2 once again. Leclerc is listed at +333 to win in Canada while his teammate Sainz is a far 4th favorite at +1400.
