On Sunday, the Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles 6-0 to win their series 2 games to one. Judge homered for the 37th time this season, moving to within one home run of cashing his preseason home run prop bet of 37.5. The Yankees’ slugger is on pace to hit 62 home runs this season.
Since the All-Star break, Judge has been on fire. In the five games that the Yankees played from July 21 to 24, Judge posted a batting average of .474 (9-19) with an OPS of 1.776 and a slugging percentage of 1.211. He hit four home runs and two doubles with 11 RBIs and six runs scored. During that stretch, Judge led the majors in RBIs and extra-base hits ( 6 ) and is tied for the lead in home runs and hits
Because of his hot start to the second half of the season, Judge was named the American League Player of the Week.
